THE PAGMETER
DOG HOUSE GRILL SPECIAL AWARDS
Pag Meter Player of the Year~
Jordan Love-Senior-Liberty Patriots
Finished with 2,148 yards and 24 touchdown passes for the Valley Champions! He also ran for 806 yards and scored 2 touchdowns. Love will go down as one of the best to ever play at Liberty! The Valley Champions were the #1 team in the valley when Love was healthy at QB. Love will be playing at Utah state next year
Pag Meter Offensive Player of the Year~
Sean Kuenzinger-Senior-Clovis Cougars
The TRAC Offensive Player of the Year that helped the Cougars win the TRAC championship and helped get the Cougars to the valley championship game. Sean had great numbers with 185- 305 for 3,056 yards passing and 30 touchdown passes. Kuenzinger will be playing at Minot State next year
Pag Meter Defensive Player of the Year~
Kurtis Brown-Junior-Liberty Patriots
Hey valley, Kurtis is only a junior! He was almost unblockable, and if you ask every coach that played against the Patriots, they will all agree that he was a game changer. The 280-pound beast on the defensive line, hurried the quarterback 25 times with 6 sacks and finished with 96 total tackles. Brown is being recruited by so many that it’s hard to keep track

Pag Meter Lineman of the Year~
Connor Vikupitz-Senior-Bullard Knights
Outstanding senior year and will be playing at Air Force. The CMAC linemen of the year was a force on the offensive line that helped pave the way for one of the best running games in the valley. Connor is also the Pag Meter overachiever of the year winner, and a Valedictorian with a tremendous 4.32 GPA. It doesn’t get any better than that!!
Pag Meter Athlete of the Year~
Lawrence White- Senior- Ridgeview Wolf Pack
One of the most dangerous players on both sides of the ball in the State! White helped the Wolf Pack win back-to-back Section Championships. At QB, he threw for 1,594 yards with 20 touchdown passes, and ran for 508 yards and scored 5 touchdowns. On defense he played like Deion Sanders as a defensive back as a lockdown corner. It was impossible to throw the football on his side of the field. White will be playing at Iowa State next year
Freshman of the year~
Alec Trejillo-(Exeter) and now Memorial
After coming up to the varsity. Alec threw for 1,949 yards with 16 touchdown passes in 8 games. Trejillo transferred Memorial in December.
Sophomore of the Year~
Adrian Martinez-Clovis West Golden Eagles
Martinez plays like Russell Wilson and only a sophomore. The Golden Eagles will be the team to beat the next 2 years because of their QB Martinez running the show. Watch as the offers from colleges start to roll in. Martinez has a cannon for an arm and can run like the wind! He threw for 1,672 yards with 14 TD passes, and rushed for 902 yards and scored 6 TD’s. Did I say he is only a sophomore??
Junior of the Year~
Jonah Johnson-Madera South Stallions
By far, Johnson is the best kept secret in the Valley! The Stallions offensive style made it difficult to be on any College’s radar. When playing against Madera South, there were always 22 eyes on JJ on every play, making him a one man show. Playing in the CMAC and against some of the best defenses in the Valley, he looked like a great high school player playing against 8th graders. By playoff time, JJ was beat up and had nothing left in the tank.
Pag Meter Heart Award and Most Inspirational~
Alex Gutierrez-Senior-Chowchilla Redskins
Alex broke his arm in week 6 and worked his tail off to get back. Most would have shut it down, but Alex was so determined to return to the Redskins backfield. He ended up with 931 rushing and scored some huge touchdowns down the stretch for the Division 4 Section Champions. Alex was the inspiration that the Redskins looked up too on and off the field!
Gamer of the year~
Jason Lee-Senior-Clovis North Broncos
How bout this dude! Every time the Broncos needed a big yard, a big first down, a big touchdown, Lee was on his game and would deliver on both sides of the ball. The TRAC Co-defensive Player of the Year was fast and could run you over. I still think if Lee would have carried the ball 40 times a game, the Broncos would have won more games. He was a force on both sides of the ball and the Broncos leader. He will be missed!
Co-Kickers of the Year~
Nathan De Jager-Senior-Bakersfield Christian Eagles
The South Valley’s best kicker and punter. He went 12 of 17 on field goals and nailed a 34-yarder to beat Chavez on the final play. He was such a weapon punting as well
Evan Rios-Senior-Madera Coyotes
The strongest leg of any kicker to come along in the North Valley in a while. When you watch the Coyotes warm up before the game, Evan would be drilling 60 yarders with ease. Rios was also a gamer and was cool under pressure. He nailed a 38 yard winning field goal with zero time remaining against Los Banos. Against Hoover he hit a 45 yard field goal with no time remaining, and in 2014, he drilled a 43 yarder to upset Bullard at the horn. If Fresno state was smart, they would travel to Madera to get their kicker!
