STATE BOWL GAMES

Pag Meter predictions for the State playoff games
at Sacramento State
Will the Northern teams win the overall series over the Southern Teams because the games are played at Sac State? Yes the North wins the series 3 games to 2

Division 2 AA
Del Oro Golden Eagles (10-6) vs Camarillo Scorpions (15-1)

Final Del Oro 16 Camarillo 13
Pag Meter line Del Oro -3
The X factor is the Del Oro defense because it is good.
The Pag Meter says that don’t look at the Golden Eagles record because they played the toughest schedule over anybody in the north. Camarillo has a long way to go but
the difference will be the Golden Eagles defense.
Pag Meter Prediction Del Oro 21 Camarillo 14

Final DEL ORO 16 CAMARILLO 13

The Pag Meter nailed the point spread and the Golden Eagles defense was the difference.

Division 1 AA
Bellarmine Bells-San Jose (13-2) vs Mission Viejo Diablos (16-0)

Final Mission Viejo 24 Bellarmine 0

Pag Meter line Mission Viejo -4
The X factor is the Bells running game and can they run against a very good defense?
The Pag Meter says if the Bells can beat Folsom who had a 30 game winning streak, they can sure knock off unbeaten Mission Viejo who now has the state’s longest winning streak of 27 games. The rain could be a factor. It’s the running team of the Bells vs the passing team of the Diablos. The running team has the advantage over the passing team in the rain. The team that can play better in the rain will win.
Pag Meter prediction Mission Viejo 21 Bellarmine 17

Final MISSION VIEJO 24 BELLARMINE 0

The Diablos defense dominated the game for 48 minutes. MV now has a 28 game winning steak and the longest in the state. Bellarmine offense couldn't do anything in the rain. They were stuffed all night long. MV Colin Schooler, rushed for 230 yards and scored 2 TD's.

Division 1 A
Clayton Valley-Concord Ugly Eagles (13-2) vs Narbonne-Harbor City Gauchos (14-2)

Final Narbonne 28 Clayton Valley 14
Pag Meter Line Narbonne -7
The X factor is Narbonne defense and are they ready for a war up front?
The Pag Meter says that (former Clovis East head coach) Tim Murphy and the Ugly Eagles are on probation for illegal recruiting from last year and they are back in the championship game. Murphy's Clayton Valley team is just like the Clovis East T Wolves used to be with coming in with hard ass attitude, steroid stud players that wants to hit you in the mouth. It is the Gauchos speed vs the strong Ugly Eagles. It could be raining and that favors the Ugly Eagles. The Ugly Eagles will try to shorten the game with long drives...
If the Ugly Eagles gets behind by 2 TD's...it's over because they hate to throw the ball. One thing I love about the Murph is he will go for it on 4th down and it doesn't matter where it is on the field. Love that!
Pag Meter Prediction Narbonne 28 Clayton Valley 21

Final NARBONNE 28 CLAYTON VALLEY 14

This is the problem with the Ugly Eagles offense if they get behind , they are done because they can't throw it overhand. Only underhand on handoffs. Narbonne was flat out a much better team and CV made it close with the ugly offense they run. It's another state championship game where the defense dominated the game.

San Marino Titans (15-1) vs Central Catholic-Modesto Raiders (16-0)

Final Central Catholic 56 San Marino 21
Pag Meter line Central Catholic -14
The X factor is the Titans defense against the speed
The Pag Meter says that this should be a real good game of undefeated teams. The Raiders are very streaky. Will rain be a factor?
Pag Meter Central Catholic 35 San Marino 23

Final CENTRAL CATHOLIC 56 SAN MARINO 21

The Raiders were much to big and fast for the Titans

The State Championship game
De La Salle Spartans (13-1) vs Centennial Huskies (14-1)

Final De La Selle 28 Centennial 21
Pag Meter line De La Salle-7
The X factor, can the Huskies be disipline on defense?
The Pag Meter says that the Huskies should win by 3 TD’s but they are playing the most discipline high school football in the USA. This game is all about Centennial and can they get away from the De La Salle mystique? Usually all the Spartans have to do is walk out of the locker room and the game is over. Centennial is the No 1 in the nation and if they are, they need to beat De La Salle!!!
Pag Meter Prediction  De La Salle 35 Centennial 28

Final DE LA SaLLE 28 CENTENNIAL 21

The Spartans made the big plays and the Huskies didn't. The Pag Meter just knew that Centennial wasn't the No 1 team in the USA.

Division 4 -AA
Bonita Vista Barons-Chula Vista (12-3) at Hanford Bullpups (14-1)

Final Hanford 33 Bonita Vista 21
Pag Meter Early line Hanford -7
Bonita Vista won the San Diego Section Div. III championship. Won last week against Canyon (Anaheim) 24-21.
Hanford won the division 3 section championship and last week beat Sanora 42-18

The Barons have superstar RB Greg Bell who has rushed for 2,493 yards and has scored 32 touchdowns. QB Anthony Posada has thrown for 2,134 yards with 14 touchdown passes.

Hanford has QB  Ryan Johnson  who has thrown for 2,817 yards with 32 TD passes. Jo Jo McDaniel is now over 2,000 yards rushing with 2,017 yards and has scored  23 TD’s, and WR Ju’Wuane Hughes with 41 catches for  856 yards, and 11 TD’s.

The X factor is the defense for both teams. Both offenses are explosive.

The Pag Meter says that Hanford has been a 2nd half team all year. The Barons remind me of Lemoore and Hanford doesn’t match up well against Lemoore. The Barons do have a very good defense so the big question is can the Barons slow down the speed of the Bullpups? The key will be the 3rd quarter because the Bullpups are usually red hot coming out of halftime. The game could be very close at halftime.  The town will be buzzing so Hanford at home has the edge.
Just think, last year Hanford won their 1st section title in school history and a year later the Pups are playing for their 1st state title. Very cool!
Pag Meter prediction Hanford 35 Bonita Vista 28

Final HANFORD 33 BONITA VISTA 21

Division 4 -A
Sierra-Manteca T Wolves (9-6) at Chowchilla Redskins (12-3)

Final Sierra 20 Chowchilla 15
Pag Meter early line Chowchilla -5
The Timberwolves beat host Sutter 17-13 in the NorCal Division 4-A game last Saturday at Yuba City-River Valley.

The Redskins are the division 4 section champions and last week beat Fairfax 28-16
The Redskins racked up 371 rushing yards with Alex Gutierrez (138 yards), Danny Chavez (102) and Anthony Stewart (100) all rushing for at least 100 yards.

The T Wolves feature back is Mark Paule Jr. and has rushed for a career 3,476 yards and is just 67 yards away from being the school's all time leading rusher. Paule is also scored 60 career TD’s and is 2 TD’s away from the school record. Anthony Cota has both records.
The Redskins come in and they are beat up. Alex Gutierrez, Danny Chavez and Anthony Stewart are not 100% but they would all play at 10 % because this Redskins team is full of heart!

The X factor is the T Wolves defense against the shotgun double wing T offense.

The Pag Meter says that the T Wolves runs the spread offense and the Redskins have seen plenty of spreads such as Washington Union and Kerman. There shouldn’t be any surprises. The T Wolves have not seen many offenses like the Redskins. It could rain and that favors the Redskins.
Pag Meter Prediction Chowchilla 24 Sierra 20

Final SIERRA 20 CHOWCHILLA 15

Sierra scores with 54 seconds to go and the game winner. The Redskins just could not get the offense moving in the sloppy field

Division 5 -AA
Immanuel Eagles (11-3)  at Mater Dei Crusaders -Chula Vista (14-1)

Final Mater Dei 56 Immanuel 21
Pag Meter line Mater Dei -14
The Crusaders beat Notre Dame of Riverside 21-14
The Eagles beat Bradshaw Christian 31-21

The X factor is the Eagles and getting off to a great start on the road.

The Pag Meter says that both private are loaded with talent. This is not the big private professional high school of Mater Dei that plays in the upper division but it’s close. The Eagles have to play flawless on both sides of the ball to pull this one out.
Pag Meter prediction Mater Dei 34 Immanuel 21

Final MATER DEI 56 IMMANUEL 21

The Eagles met their match with the Crusaders. They were bigger and stronger than the Eagles

Regional state playoff game Finals

Last week in the section championship games the Pag Meter went 5-1

For the year 489-99

Finals

Division 2-AA
Del Oro Golden Eagles (9-6) at Liberty Patriots (10-4)

Final Del Oro 28 Liberty 24
Pag Meter Early line Liberty -4
Del Oro wins their 10th division 2 CIF section title beating Rocklin 30-20
Liberty won their 1st valley championship in school history beating Clovis 56-21.
Both teams started the year slow and came on strong. Del Oro started out 2-6 and Liberty started out 1-3.
Both teams have outstanding QB’s with Stone Smartt and Jordan Love.
Del Oro has junior Stone Smartt who threw for 205 yards, rushed for 72 yards in the win over Rocklin. For the year Smartt has thrown for 2,263 yards with 16 TD passes. Smartt has plenty of very good wide receivers to throw too.
Liberty’s  Jordan Love threw for 295 yards and rushed for 60 yards in the win over Clovis. For the year, Jordan has thrown for 1,960 yards with 21 TD passes and has rushed for 709 yards and has scored 8 TD’s.
Both teams have outstanding running backs.
Del Oro has junior Dalton Gee who has rushed for 910 yards with 10 TD’s scored.
Liberty’s Quincy Jountti has rushed for 1,559 yards and has scored 21 TD’s.

The X factor

is the defensive side of the ball and who plays better in the 2nd half.
The Pag Meter says

that the Patriots are a veteran team and the Golden Eagles are a year away of being really good.  The Patriots will win at home unless they have a hangover and that means penalties and turnovers.  Del Oro has played a much tougher schedule over Liberty with Bellarmine and national power De La Salle, Sierra, Foothill, Folsom, Oak Ridge and Rocklin, and that could be the difference. This game could come down to the final minutes and who has the ball last. Will the weather be a factor?
Pag Meter prediction Liberty 28 Del Oro 24

Final DEL ORO 28 LIBERTY 24

Del Oro trailed 21-7 in the 3rd quarter. QB Stone Smartt scored on a 1 yard TD run and the game winner with less than 30 seconds to go.

Division 4-AA
Hanford Bullpups (13-1) at Sonora Wildcats (12-2)

Final Hanford 42 Sonora 18
Pag Meter early line Hanford -14
Hanford beat Memorial 42-28 and has won back to back division 3 section championships. Sonora got down 24-7 and then scored 35 straight points in beating Bear River 40-32 and won the Sac Joaquin Section Division 5 championship.
The Wildcats will pound the ball all night long and this is not a great matchup for the Bullpups but it’s also not a great matchup for the Wildcats with all the team speed of the Bullpups.
The Wildcats running backs are Nate Gookin who has rushed for 734 yards and scored 8 TDs, Kane Rodgers with 708 rushing yards & 6 TDs, William Faughnan, 667 rushing yards and has scored 10 TD’s, Bradley Canepa has rushed for 493 yards and has scored 11 TD’s. QB is Same Page who has rushed for 611 yards and has scored 3 TD’s.
The Bullpups have red hot QB Ryan Johnson who has for 2,573 yards and has thrown 29 TD passes. Johnson favorite targets are Juwuane Hughes (739 yards, 8 TD’s) and Brandon Sanchez (630 yards, 11 TD’s). Running back is Jo Jo McDaniels who has rushed for 1,827 yards and has scored 21 TD’s.

The X factor

is the Bullpups team and can they play well on the road and the defensive front seven and are they ready for a war upfront?

The Pag Meter says

that Sonora is a physical team that doesn’t like to throw the ball. They run the triple option and that’s not easy to defend if you haven’t played against it. Hanford has to win this game scoring a bunch of points. The Bullpups can't win on a low scoring game. For Hanford to win is they have to control the line of scrimmage on the defensive side of the ball and the offense needs to stay hot. If Sonora gets down 24-7 to the Bullpups then Hanford will run them right out of their own stadium. It will be REAL cold!

Pag Meter Prediction Hanford 35 Sonora 21

Final HANFORD 42 SONARA 18

QB Ryan Johnson hit receiver Ju'wuane Hughes with 3 TD passes of 56, 22 and 12 yards in the 2nd half to put the game away

Division 5 -AA
Bradshaw Christian The Pride (11-3) vs Immanuel Eagles (11-2)

Final Immanuel 31 Bradshaw Christian 21
Pag meter early line Immanuel -11
The Pride beat Hilmar 28-18 and won its first-ever Sac-Joaquin Section Division 4 title.
Immanuel beat Mendota 35-20 and the division 5 section championship.
Both teams have brought in bigger and better players and both are growing from the small school program to a powerhouse program.
The Pride runs the Wing T and the Eagles will throw it all over the yard.
The Pride has rushed for 4,672 yards as a team. Mateo Bromstead has rushed for 1,161 yards and scored 14 TD’s and Jared Kanipe rushed for 1,106 yards and has scored 23 TD’s.
For the Eagles they have red hot  QB Caleb Paulson who has thrown for 2,405 yards, with 29 TD passes.

The X factor

is the Eagles defense against the Wing T

The Pag Meter says

that this game will either be a very close game or an Eagles blow out by 14 plus. If Immanuel can control the defensive line of the scrimmage and force the Pride in 3rd and long then it will be a long ride back to Sacramento for the Pride. We will see who is battle tested after this game.
Pag Meter prediction Immanuel 35 Bradshaw Christian 24

Final IMMANUEL 31 BRADSHAW CHRISTIAN 21

The Eagles forced 4 turnovers including the final turnover by Cody King's INT to seal the deal.

Partly cloudy and 39 degrees

REGIONAL BOWL
SOUTHERN SECTION GAMES

Division I-A
Narbonne Gauchos (13-2)  at Ridgeview Wolf Pack (13-1)

Final Narbonne 35 Ridgeview 20
Pag Meter Early line Ridgeview -7
This game has the makings of a shootout.
Narbonne beat Crenshaw 57-21 and won the L.A. City Section Division I championship.
Ridgeview beat Lemoore 45-19 and wins back to back division 2 section championship.
For the Gauchos and they have great stats and  it all starts with QB Roman Ale who has thrown for 3,972 passing yards, and 43 TD’s. WOW!! RB is Sean Riley who has rushed for 1,302 yards, and has scored 16 TD’s. Ale favorite WR is  Devaughn Cooper with 1,199 yards, and has scored 19 TD’s.
The Wolf Pack has red hot QB Lawrence White who has thrown for 1,594 with  20 TD passes and has rushed for 508 yards and has scored 5 TD’s. RB is speedster Darius Smith who has rushed for 1,553 yards and has scored 23 TD’s.

The X Factor

is the Narbonne defense.
Crenshaw matches up with the team speed of Ridgeview but Crenshaw is the most unorganized program and the complete opposite of the Ridgeview.
Narbonne was much more discipline than Crenshaw and has soooooo much speed that Ridgeview has not seen.

The Pag meter says

The teams Narbonne plays are horrible on defense so the Gauchos stats are flawed. That being said, this will be the best team that Ridgeview has seen since Liberty in week 1. When you haven't played a tough schedule and then you are asked to turn it up ....very tough to do. Can the Wolf Pack play great against a mirror imagine of theirself? They did not. If the Wolf Pack are the real deal, then they have to win at home.
Pag Meter prediction Ridgeview 38 Narbonne 31

Final NARBONNE 35 RIDGEVIEW 20

Narbonne made the big plays and Ridgeview didn't

Division 4 A
Fairfax Lions (8-7) at Chowchilla Redskins (12-2)

Final Chowchilla 28 Fairfax 16
Pag Meter early line Chowchilla -13
Fairfax beat Los Angeles 31-16 to win the LA City Division 2 championship.
Ramses Hernandez rushed for 224 yards and scored 4 TD’s.
Chowchilla beat Washington Union 20-16 to win the division 4 section championship.

Anthony Stewart who is the North Sequoia league player of the year rushed for 202 yards, Alex Gutierrez scored 2 TD’s and has now rushed for 194 yards in the playoffs and has scored 4 TD’s,  and Anthony Chavez scored on a 27 yard TD run.

The X Factor

is the Redskins defense and can they slow down the running game of Hernandez and QB Markell White. They are both 90% of the offense.

The Pag Meter says

it’s tough to figure out if Fairfax is real good or is Los Angeles real bad? Maybe a little of both.  This is the 99th year anniversary of the Chowchilla Redskins and the Lions are a big team but they haven’t seen a double Wing T shotgun offense  and they will not be able to handle the Redskins offense. The Central valley teams plays much better defense compared to the LA schools. Playing against the Redskins will take a lot longer than a week of practice.
Pag Meter Prediction Chowchilla 28 Fairfax 15

Final CHOWCHILLA 28 FAIRFAX 16

The Redskins racked up 371 rushing yards with Alex Gutierrez (138 yards), Danny Chavez (102) and Anthony Stewart (100) all rushing for at least 100 yards.

Division 5-A
Kennedy Thunderbirds (10-4) vs Saddleback Valley Christian Warriors San Juan Capistrano (15-0)

Final Saddleback Valley Christian 59 Kennedy 45
Pag Meter early line Saddleback Valley Christian -14
The Warriors are East valley champions by winning in a forfeit  over Grace Brethren who had a innegable player.
Kennedy beat Avenal 30-14 and are back to back division 6 section champions.
This is the toughest one to call but the Thunderbirds have to come in with an attitude and this about how they couldn’t play last year in the state playoff game.

The X factor is the Kennedy defense.

The Pag Meter says

Kennedy has to take it to Saddleback with David Zepeda and the offensive line with long drives. They can’t win in a shootout. Zepeda rushed for 229 yards and scored 3 TDs in the win over Avenal. . The Thunderbirds defensive has to slow down the Warrior's passing game of  junior QB Cade Henjum who has  thrown for 2,235 yards with 33 TD paases.
Both teams have question marks.
The Thunderbirds haven’t faced a passing attack like Saddleback and the Warriors haven’t faced a Wing T offense like Kennedy so we will see.
Pag Meter Prediction Saddleback Valley Christian 49 Kennedy 35

Final SADDLEBACK VALLEY 59 KENNEDY 45

Pag Meter said that Kennedy couldn't win in a shootout
