Valley Championship Playoff Division 1

Top Bracket
No 9 Bakersfield (5-6) vs No 8 Edison (5-6)

Final Edison 16 Bakersfield 6
Pag Meter Early line Edison -7
Edison will play at No 1 Clovis in the 2nd round.
In week 10, Bakersfield lost to Liberty 44-21 and Edison lost to Bullard 28 -21.
This is a great rivalry and the defending champion Tigers have won 2 straight over the 36 time Valley Champion Drillers including a 14-7 win in week 1.
These teams are much different from the 1st meeting.
The Drillers have senior QB Keayr Gragg who has thrown for 1,019 yards with 6 TD passes. The Drillers have some of the best and fastest wide receivers in the valley with Jakell Tomlin and Darius Jones. This year the Drillers offense is not the dangerous triple option but they are running a pistol type from shotgun. They will also run some under center. Look for the Drillers triple option to return next year. The Drillers are a fast striking offense with big plays.
The Tigers beat the Drillers in week 1 with the possible worst offense in the state. The Tigers defense was outstanding but the offense was horrible and somehow the Tigers won.
The Tigers now have a new quarterback with sophomore Gerard Mendez. New running back with Jaylan King. The offensive line is so much better. The receivers couldn’t catch a cold and now are catching everything. Jimmy Gray and William Lee are now playing.
There are a few X factors in this game….
No 1 X factor, can the Tigers stop making dumb mistakes like jumping off sides or lining up offsides on defense? They are doing stupid things now you would see in the August scrimmage. And don’t forget personal foul penalties!
They played a lot smarter.  The Tigers lead the valley in that category. New defensive coaches with Robbie Quinn and Jason Murray and they work well together.
No 2, can the Drillers defense slow down the Tigers running game? We all know about the defensive front and how the Drillers have one down lineman and the rest are moving around. It might not faze the Tigers because the more you play the Drillers, the better it is.
Drillers put 9 in the box and much of the time did a nice job

No 3 X factor,  the Tigers matchup well with Drillers offense. It’s speed vs speed. The Tigers will put pressure on QB Gragg. If the Tigers secondary has a good game then the Drillers are in trouble. The Tigers stuffed the Drillers all night long.
No 4, can both teams get over the hard hitting and emotional week 10 game? For Liberty and Bullard, they needed the bye. It was ugly but got the win
The Pag Meter says that Tigers are finally peaking at the right time. The defending champions started out with a tough schedule, a semi new offensive coaching staff, a new team and they weren't ready for the challenge. Edison is usually 4 weeks behind schedule because the teams they play  practice a lot longer with early morning weight lifting, practicing late after school. For the Tigers it’s a Mickey Mouse operation at best. Edison does none of that. The coaching staff has their hands tied.  This  year it took the Tigers 9 weeks but they are finally playing Tigers football.
The Tigers will pound it right at the Drillers and the Tigers offensive line will be the difference in this game.
Pag Meter prediction Edison 21 Bakersfield 14

Final EDISON 16 BAKERSFIELD 6

The Tigers defense beat up the Drillers and the Drillers had no answers. Jaylan King rushed for 127 yards and scored on a 4 yard TD run. QB Gerard Mendez hit Jimmy Gray on a 22 yard TD pass.

The Pag Meter nailed this game

No 12 Clovis East (3-8) vs  No 5 Clovis North (6-4)

Final Clovis North 55 Clovis East 35
Pag Meter Early line Clovis North -20
Clovis North plays No 4 Buchanan in the 2nd round
In week 10, Clovis East lost to Central 64-44 and Clovis North lost to Buchanan 31-28
This is a rematch from week 7 when the Broncos beat the T Wolves 48-43.
It’s the same old story for CE, gets a big lead and they give it up in the 2nd half because the defense can’t hold it.
The T Wolves have a very good offense with RB Marcus Washington and QB Trey Semiem and the Broncos will lead with RB Jayson Lee and a very good offensive line.
The X Factor is which team can make the adjustments after watching the game film.
Clovis North did a lot better job!
The Pag Meter says that both defenses are not good but CN is a bit better and will make the bigger adjustments from the 1st meeting. CE runs a 3-4 defense that gives up 48 points per game and CN will see holes the size of 18 wheel trucks to run through.  I see the Broncos mauling the T Wolves defense and the Broncos will play the Bears again. They mauled them alright!!
Pag Meter prediction Clovis North 48 Clovis East 28

Final CLOVIS NORTH 55 CLOVIS EAST 35

The Broncos beat up the T Wolves for 3 1/2 quarters and this game wasn't close.

Broncos junior RB Jordan Ayerza had his best game yet rushing for 156 yards and scored 3 TD's.  If there wasn't a hole, Ayerza would find a T Wolve to run over.  QB Jeremy Miller threw 2 TD passs to Chad Fugman on 55 and 7 yards. The CN defense did a great job slowing down a very good offense.

Pag Meter pretty much nailed this game

Bottom Bracket

No 11 Frontier (5-5) vs No 6 Clovis West (6-4)

Final Clovis West 30 Frontier 10
Pag Meter Early line Clovis West -21
Clovis West plays No 3 Bullard in the 2nd round either at McLane Stadium
In week 10, Frontier beat Centennial 21-14 and Clovis West lost to Clovis 20-12.
This is a rematch of last year in round one when Clovis West beat Frontier 30-10. Clovis West is a much better team from last year and Frontier is not.
Both teams run a up tempo offense.
The X factor in this game and I have said it for 6 weeks is Frontier played a soft schedule and it will cost them in this game.
I can hear it now, Hey Pag Meter, Frontier did beat Centennial last week! Yes they did but that’s not the same Golden Hawks team from 3 weeks ago.
For the Titans to stay close, they need junior QB Greg Youngblood, junior running back Cameron Meeks along with the O-line to dominate the line of scrimmage and have their best game. The up tempo Titans offense has to be on
. It was not!
The Clovis West offense is up and down with sophomore QB Adrian Martinez running the show. When he is on, Adrian is just as good as anybody. linebacker/tight end/slotback Caleb Kelly is doing his thing but I think everybody is waiting for the other book end Darian Owens to step up and make plays. He has been quiet. ….For CW to make a run, they need Owens!!
If CW can run the ball with Kahlil Harshaw between the tackles to go along with their up tempo offense then it will be a long night for Frontier.
Pag Meter prediction Clovis West 31 Frontier 10

CLOVIS WEST 30 FRONTIER 10

It was the same score as last year in the 1st round and CW is peaking at the right time.

No stats available

The Pag Meter almost nailed the score

No 10 Central (4-7) at No 7 Centennial (6-5)

Final Central 30 Centennial 19
Pag Meter Early line Centennial -7
Central plays at No 2 Liberty  in the 2nd round
In week 10, Central beat Clovis East 64-44 and Centennial lost to Frontier 21-14.
The young Grizzlies come with a veteran senior QB Nick Szpor.
The Grizzlies have played tough football since they took Bullard to the final play at the goal line but fell short. The Grizzlies are so close at having a 7-3 record but just can’t close out games and that’s not easy to do. Just look at Clovis going 9-1, they know how to win the close games.
The Golden Hawks have semi fallen apart since star player Brandon Robinson went down in the win over Bakersfield 3 weeks ago. Since then the G Hawks have a 2 game losing streak. Centennial has one of the best defenses in the valley but is struggling running the football.
So many X Factors in this game.
No 1 X factor, The Golden Hawks offense is struggling running the ball without Robinson so can Hunter Giulietti pick up the load?
They could not run the ball.
No 2, the G Hawks are now a throwing team with senior QB Cesar Deleon who might just throw it 40 plus times. His receivers are good with outstanding junior Cole Beaty, Andy Roach and Cole Nelson. Beaty was hurt and had to leave the game.
No 3, and it’s always the Grizzlies wide receivers and can they catch the ball? They lead the valley with drop balls. They made the catches when needed.
No 4, The Grizzlies on the road. The Grizzlies are fantastic at home but what team will show up at Centennial?
They brought their A game!
The Pag Meter says that the Golden Hawks offense is not the same without Robinson and the Grizzlies pass defense is pretty good.
On a side note, everybody talks about the only reason Central beat Clovis was because Central had 13 players...That is true they had 13 players on Saturday but that’s not their fault it wasn’t called.  People seem to forget but go back to the Thursday pre-lightning game and for 42 minutes, Central dominated with 11 players over Clovis.
Pag Meter prediction
(Upset special) Central 33 Centennial 24

Final CENTRAL 30 CENTENNIAL 19

Pag Meter nailed the upset special.

QB Nick Szopr threw for 213 yards with 3 TD passes. Szpor hit Jaylon Johnson on a 22 yard TD and Nate Howard on a 51 yard TD. Howard finished with 114 yards in receiving

Division 2 Playoffs
Top Bracket
West (6-5) at Independence (5-6)

Final WEST 17 INDEPENDENCE 0
Pag Meter Early line Independence -3
West plays at No 1 Ridgeview in the 2nd round
In week 10, West lost to Tehachapi 48-7 and Independence lost to Ridgeview 30-3
This is the rematch from week 7 when the Falcons won 21-14 in overtime. I have the feeling that if they played 10 times, that all 10 games would go down to the wire.
The Pag Meter says that the Falcons are a bit more consistent and playing at home but it's always tough to beat a team twice in the same year.
Pag Meter prediction Independence 17 West 15

Final WEST 17 INDEPENDENCE 0

It's the old story of it's tough to beat the same team twice in a year.

Vikings Josh Boyd took the game over with 7 catches from QB Christopher Coleman with 183 yards in receiving. Boyd caught 2 TD passes of 60 and 75 yards.

Pag Meter missed this game and West stepped up!

Division 3 Playoffs

Top Bracket
No 9 Madera (4-6) at No 8 Kingsburg (6-5)

Final Kingsburg 38 Madera 26
Pag Meter Early line Kingsburg -6

Kingsburg plays at No 1 Hanford in the 2nd round
In week 10, Madera lost to Madera South 55-36 and Kingsburg lost to Selma 35-33.
Both teams have played in division 2 and both have moved back to division 3
The Coyotes are in a huge slump losing 5 straight after playing in the CMAC. To make matters worse the Coyotes lost their head coach and leader Bonner Cunnings to suspension the rest of way. The Coyotes would be absolutely country dumb if coach is not back for next year.
The Vikings have speed on the offense and leading the way is Seth Brooks who has rushed for 1,054 yards. Junior QB Anthony Sierra has thrown for 1,943 yards with 12 TD passes and is getting better and better.
The X Factor is both defenses because they both will give up a bunch of points.
The Vikings played better on defense
The Pag Meter says that the Coyotes is a man to man in your face defense and the Vikings will either come up big or have plenty of punts and turnovers. Madera got beat up playing in the CMAC and can they regroup after  5 weeks of blood bath games?
Pag Meter prediction Kingsburg 37 Madera 31

Final KINGSBURG 38 MADERA 26

The Pag Meter called it that Madera would losing all 3 games when head coach Bonner Cunnings was suspended. Vikings Seth Brooks dominated in the 2nd half with some huge plays on both sides of the ball. Brooks picked off a pass to set up a Brooks TD run on offense.    Brooks then picked off another pick to set up a field goal, then scored the final TD on a run.

No 12 Golden Valley (5-6) vs No 5 Fresno High (9-2)

Final Golden Valley 35 Fresno High 33
Pag Meter Early line Fresno High -10
Golden Valley will host No 13 Highland in the 2nd round
In week 10, Golden Valley beat East 28-21 and NYL champion Fresno High Warriors beat Roosevelt 21-14 in the 87th Little Big Game.
Fresno High wasn’t happy with their seed and the Pag Meter also had them at the No 5 seed. The Warriors had 2 tough games out of 10 and went 1-1
. This is why Fresno got the No 5 seed because the schedule did not get them ready for a tough Bulldog team!
The Bulldogs offense has struggled most of the year and the Warriors defense has struggled most of the year.
GV has the Tyler boys with senior QB Tyler Watters who has thrown for 1,064 yards with 12 TD passes and junior RB Tyler Thompson who has rushed for 1,184 yards and has scored 9 TD’s.
The Warriors have plenty of speed on offense with RB Nyric Hinton and QB Khory Day.

The X factor is the Warriors defense because they have plenty talent but will give up  points. It’s a mystery and you never know what you get with the Fresno D and it has to be the players are confused with the defensive scheme. Most of the time, the game plan is put in the day before the game. 100% of teams will put the defensive game plan in on Monday so you have time to prepare. Fresno High has speed on defense and makes plays with talent.
The Pag Meter says that the Warriors will have to score plenty to win it all and if the Warriors mess up with Mistakes, GV could have a nice bus ride home.
Pag Meter prediction Fresno High 39 Golden Valley 29

Final GOLDEN VALLEY 35 FRESNO HIGH 33

With the scored 35-33 GV, the Bulldogs defense stopped the Warriors on the 2 pt play and the game winner.

The Tyler boys of QB Tyler Watters and RB Tyler Thompson along with MLB Juan Curiel came up big the win.

The Pag Meter missed this one but not surprised after seeing how Fresno plays defense all week. I thought about pulling the trigger and taking Golden Valley but was chicken!

No 13 Highland (5-6) at No 4 Bakersfield Christian (7-4)

Final Highland 28 Bakersfield Christian 14
Pag Meter Early line -13
Highland plays at No 12 Golden Valley in the 2nd round
In week 10, Highland beat Foothill 41-16 and Bakersfield Christian won the SSL championship beating Taft 20-7.
The Scots are big and physical and will try to slow down another big and physical team.
The Scots will try the pound the ball with RB Rodney Rhoden.
The Eagles have a big O-line and will throw the ball all over the yard with sophomore QB Austin Gaines and he has plenty of targets with junior Stephen Figures, sophomore Devyon Miller, sophomore Jerimiah Miller, and senior Brock Duffield.
The X factor is the Eagles have one of the best kickers in the valley with Nathan DeJager and what a great weapon to have in a playoff run.
The other X factor is Scots running back Chance Cooper. If he can have a good game running behind the big O-line , there could be a upset!
The Pag Meter says that the Scots offense will not be able to keep up with the Eagles defense because it is fast and physical. The Eagles are very good and very young!!
Pag Meter prediction Bakersfield Christian 27 Highland 14

Final HIGHLAND 28 BAKERSFIELD CHRISTIAN 14

The Pag Meter missed this game and I really thought the Eagles had what it took to win it all. Nope!!

The Scots defense stepped up and had a great game. The Pag Meter's X factor Chance Cooper pounded the Eagles defense for 185 yards rushing  and scored 3 TD's. Cooper also caught a 38 yard TD pass from Zeke Arambulo and picked off a pass.

Bottom  Bracket

No 11 North (5-6) vs No 6 Tulare Western (8-3)

Final Tulare Western 41 North 7
Pag Meter Early line Tulare Western -31
Tulare Western plays at No 3 Tehachapi in the 2nd round
In week 10, North lost the SEYL championship to South 16-0 and Tulare Western won the EYL championship beating Tulare Union 20-17.
The Stars struggle against good defenses running the football and the Mustangs are very good against the run and leading the way is senior linebacker Elijah Alonzo.
Alonzo was all over the field and was unblockable
The X factor is the Mustangs offense.  Since QB Andre Aguilar has showed up, TW has won 5 straight games to go along with two outstanding running backs with David Alcantar and Mason Bernardo. They steam rolled for 48 minutes
Can the Stars running back Curtis Threlkeld run against a very good TW defense? He was shut down
Pag Meter says that the Mustangs are way too strong on both sides of the ball in this game.

Pag Meter prediction Tulare Western 38 North 7

Final TULARE WESTERN 41 NORTH 7

This is the 1st playoff win in 11 years. The Mustangs stuffed the Stars offense to 153 total yards. Kicker Cameron Horsting nailed 2 field goals of 41 and 27 yards and now has the school record with 10 field goals. Andre Aguilar has now won 6 straight as the starting QB and  threw a 27 yard TD pass to Jesse Macias and scored on a 16 yard TD run.

The Pag Meter nailed this game

No 10 Reedley (3-7) at No 7 South (9-2)

Final South 39 Reedley 7
Pag Meter Early line South -28
South plays at No 2 Memorial in the 2nd round
In week 10, Reedley lost to Sunnyside 35-12 and South won the SEYL championship beating North 16-0.
The Pirates are a different team now since the 30 day transfers became eligible. They are much better running the ball by committee but struggles throwing the football.

The Rebels have outstanding running backs PJ Jones and Aries Harris and a very good run defense.
The Pag Meter says that the X factor is the Rebels might just be too big and physical for the Pirates and the Pirates are done if they can’t throw the ball. They were done!!
Pag Meter prediction South 35 Reedley 7

Final SOUTH 39 REEDLEY 7

P.J. Jones rushed for 117 yards and scored 3 TD's including a 61 yard TD run. The Rebels stuffed the Pirates offense with 18 total yards

The Pag Meter nailed this game

Division 4 Playoffs
Top Bracket
No 9 Kerman (6-4) at No 8 Taft (8-3)

Final Kerman 28 Taft 27
Pag Meter Early line Taft -2
Kerman plays at No 1 CVC in the 2nd round
In week 10, Kerman lost to Washington Union 33-7 and Taft lost to Bakersfield Christian 20-7. Both offenses were shut down to 1 touchdown scored.
The Lions started out in week 0 with a big win over Selma 38-28 but since then the Lions have struggled being so streaky. The Lions have one of the best young talented QB’s in the valley with  Sean Chambers who threw for 1,094 yards and 12 passes and ran for 816 yards and scored 9 TD but the Lions are confused on how to use him and that gives Taft the huge advantage.
For the Wildcats and they are upset for not getting the love from the coaches rankings but I agree with the coaches and the Pag Meter had Taft at the No 8 seed because of the soft schedule.
The Pag Meter says that the Lions have more talent and should win but the Lions are so unpredictable.
The Lions have played a tougher schedule and I have changed my mind on this game 67 times all week. The No 9 seed on the road should win.
Pag Meter prediction  Kerman 27 Taft 26

Final KERMAN 28 TAFT 27

The Pag Meter nailed this game but got lucky because I couldn't make up my mind. I finally took the Lions because of the tougher scheduled played over Taft.

With 8 seconds to go and the Lions down 27-20. Lions QB Sean Chambers made the biggest play in school history throwing the ball 65 yards in the air and WR Brandon Smith made the catch in the end zone for a 48 yard Hail-mary TD to make the score 27-26.

The Lions lined up for the extra point and the tie but the Wildcats were called for roughing the kicker. The Lions decided to go for the win at the 1 yard line. C.J. Palma scored on the 2 point play and the Kerman Lions had great bus ride home.

Bottom Bracket
No 11 McLane (5-6) at No 6 Selma (8-3)

Final Selma 42 McLane 21
Pag Meter Early line Selma -15
Selma plays at No 3 Washington Union in the 2nd round
In week 10, McLane beat Hoover 47-39 and Selma beat Kingsburg 35-33. Both teams can score with quick strike offenses. McLane averages 28 points per game and Selma averages 38 points a game.
The X factor in this game is the McLane defense because they have struggled all year.
The defense got beat up
The Bears sophomore QB JR Ramirez has played well throwing for 1,591 with TD passes. The junior running backs Jordan Dominguez and Joel Aranda are a good combo running behind a good young offensive line.
The Pag Meter says the Highlanders have rebounded after the biggest break down i’ve seen in years when they lost to Reedley 41-0. It’s good to see but the defense has to tackle and make plays to beat Selma. For the last 4 years the Bears couldn't throw the ball over hand to save their life but this year the Bears are a balanced attack.
Pag Meter prediction Selma 43 McLane 27

Final SELMA 42 MCLANE 21

This is the 1st 8 win season in 40 years for the Bears!

Jordan Dominguez rushed for 124 yards and scored 4 touchdowns, including 3 TD's in the 2nd half. Selma QB Henry Ramirez Jr rushed for 158 yards on 23 carries and was 5-of-12 passing for 57 yards.

McLane tied it at 21-21 all but the defense couldn't slow down the Bears.

No 10 Liberty (6-5) at No 7 Exeter (8-3)

Final Exeter 52 Liberty 49
Pag Meter Early line Exeter -3
Exeter will play at No 2 Chavez in the 2nd round
The defending champion Hawks take on the red hot Monarchs.
in week 10, Liberty lost to Chowchilla 15-13 and Exeter beat Dinuba 41-31
It’s the Hawks outstanding defense vs the Monarchs outstanding offense.
It turned out to be a shootout
The X factor is the Hawks offense and junior QB Markie Brandt. The Hawks need to work the clock with long drives and finish with touchdowns to keep the home offense off the field. The Hawks can’t win in a shoot out.
The Hawks can’t afford to get behind early because Exeter is a 2nd half team that can put up points in a hurry.
Hawks junior QB Markie Brandt has thrown for 800 yards and the Hawks can run the ball with senior Chad Wallace who has rushed for 1,148 yards. The Hawks have to be able to throw the ball in this game to win. Brandt needs a huge game for the Hawks!
The Monarchs have freshman QB sensation Alec Trujillo who has come in and sparked the offense. Running backs Brandon Freeman and Anthony Torres are the perfect combo to go along with the Monarch's passing game.
The Pag Meter says that Liberty played Chowchilla tough in the loss. The Hawks schedule overall is not close to Exeter’s tough schedule and the Pag Meter always takes the team that has played the tougher schedule.
This will be a very good game!
Pag Meter prediction Exeter 37 Liberty 35

Final EXETER 52 LIBERTY 49

Ryan Buchanan naied the game winning 31 yard field goal with 5 seconds to go in a wild game. Exeter QB Alec Trujillo went 15-24 for 217  yards and the biggest play in his new freshman career happened when Exeter was down 42-35 and Trujillo hit Julian Andalon for a 67-yard  bomb and the big crowd went crazy!

Liberty RB Chad Wallace had a big night rushing for 224 yards and scored on 3 rushing TD's and caught a 75 yard TD pass from Markie Brandt.

Division 5 Playoffs
Top Bracket

No 9 Lindsay (4-7) at No 8 Caruthers (7-4)

Final Caruthers 37 Lindsay 0
Pag Meter Early line Caruthers -16
Caruthers plays at No 1 Immanuel in the 2nd round
Picking the No 8 seed vs the No 9 seed is always tough and this game is tough. Both teams lost in the last minutes in week 10.
Lindsay lost to Strathmore 28-21. Caruthers lost to Fowler 28-24.
The big X factor in this game is can the Cardinals slow down red hot Blue Raiders running back Alex Puga who has now rushed for 2,054 yards and breaks the school record for yards. If the Cardinals can't then the Blue Raiders will roll.
They did not
The Pag Meter says that both teams will want to pound the ball so this game is simple...who runs  better will win. The Blue Raiders sure did
Pag Meter prediction Caruthers 30 Lindsay 14

Final CARUTHERS 37 LINDSAY 0

The Blue Raiders defense played their best game of the year! RB Alex Puga along with the O-line dominated the line of scrimmage. Puga scored 2 TD's including a 39 yard TD run.

Bottom Bracket
No 10 Bishop (4-7) at No 7 Mendota (7-4)

Final Mendota 41 Bishop 14
Pag Meter Early line Mendota -21
Mendota plays at No 2 Fowler in the 2nd round
The question for Mendota and Bishop is can they tell on film just how good the other teams is? They both play far away from each other and have not seen each other live or have not played the same teams.
Both teams lost in week 10.
Bishop lost to Kern Valley 17-14 and Mendota lost the Battle of 33 to Firebaugh 14-7.
The X factor in this game is the offensive side of the ball because both teams play tremendous defense. Both teams have tremendous junior Quarterbacks and the X factor is which QB has the better game will win.
The Broncos have Ryan Graves who can run and pass with 764 yards passing and 295 yards rushing. The Aztecs counter with Junior Cardenas who has thrown for 1,773 yards with 20 TD passes. It wasn’t that long ago in 2011-2013 when Mendota had the all time leading rusher Edgar Segura who rushed for a career 8,029 yards and the Aztecs never threw the ball. I love what Beto Mejia and the staff has done and that is they use the talent they have and Cardenas can throw the ball.
The Pag Meter says that the Aztecs at home have the advantage because the Broncos have a long drive. Playing in the High Desert league is always a long drive on road trips so the Broncos will be fine.
7 hour drive was a bit much for the Broncos. The key will be the 3rd quarter because the 1st half could be close and Mendota is a 2nd half team.
Pag Meter prediction Mendota 35 Bishop 14

Final MENDOTA 41 BISHOP 14

The new Segura ERA has started!

Edgar's younger brother Erick Segura, rushed for a career-high 188 yards, including a 46-yard TD run, QB Junior Cardenas threw for 161 yards with 2 TD passes. The Aztecs had 384 total yards

Division 6 Playoffs
Top Bracket

No 9 Riverdale (3-8) at No 8 Strathmore (6-5)

Final  STRATHMORE 21 RIVERDALE 10
Pag Meter Early line Strathmore -6
Strathmore now plays at No 1 Kennedy in the 2nd round
Last year the Cowboys were favored at home and lost to California City 16-14. You just know the Cowboy players who played remember that well. This year they come into the game a semi underdog.
Both teams come in with wins on week 10,
Riverdale beat Parlier 45-6 and Strathmore beat Lindsay 28-21  in the Battle of the Bell.
The young Cowboys played a very tough schedule and the Spartans are a streaky team and comes in playing their best football and leading the way is Mohsin Alaqwari and Mitchel Maggini.
The Spartans have two very good running backs with junior Victor Ochoa who has rushed for 725 yards with 11 TD’s scored and sophomore Joseph Garcia who has rushed for 827 yards and has scored 9 TDs.
The X factor is the battle on the line of scrimmage because these teams are very even.
The Pag Meter says that the Cowboys need to play a great game on defense on the road or the seniors will lose for the 2nd year in a row in the 1st round
Pag Meter prediction Strathmore 26 Riverdale 20

Final STRATHMORE 21 RIVERDALE 10

Sophomore RB Joseph Garcia rushed  for 140 yards on 25 carries and scored 3 TD runs. The Spartans have now won 4 in a row.
