The Big debate on who is the No 1 team in the valley? 
Rideview or Bullard?

After rethinking about it. I have to say that Ridgeview is the No 1 team right now over Bullard. (I finally get it) Most everybody around the state has Ridgeview on the map after beating Bakersfield. Yes they should be in division 1 but right now they are not in division 1. Maybe next year.  

By week 10, Ridgeview will NOT be No 1 playing in the SYL and against Golden Valley, West, East, Tehachapi and Independence. Of Course they will be If Bullard and Clovis takes a dump in league play. They are all good teams in the SYL but that's not the TRAC or CMAC. Yes they would win the SWYL but overall the SWYL is off a bit.

EAST YOSEMITE

Who is going to make the big play?
Pag Meter says that both teams have hit a wall and both teams really need a win. I have no idea who will show up and play hard for 48 minutes. The Mustangs come in after a bye and not before they got crushed bye Exeter. The big question for Porterville is will Isaiah Jones play? He sat out last Friday with a groin injury as Buchanan pounded the Panthers.  If he does play, I’m taking the Panthers because you just can’t trust Mission Oak to step up. . Mission Oak is the team I have waited for to take off and get on a streak but it has not happened. Maybe it won’t. Both of these teams were supposed to contend with Tulare for EYL title. This could be a shootout.

The Bears might have a quarterback!
Pag Meter says  this has the makings of a very good Thursday night game.  Central travels well and Buchanan doesn’t. Buchanan stadium is big and it will look empty. For some reason Buchanan students don’t go to football games. The Grizzlies are much improved the last 3 weeks. The record doesn’t show but the Grizzlies are 0-0 starting league. QB Nick Szpor is averaging 3 TD passes a game the last 3 games. The X factor for Central is they needs to run the ball with long drives and the defense must slow down the Bears running attack. For the Bears they might have found their QB with junior Nolan LeForge who threw 3 TD passes to Mitch Souza in the blowout win over Porterville.  The Bears have not had a true QB for at least 3 years. The Bears will stick in a guy who is a good athlete so stay tuned.  The Bears X factor is the offense and if LeForge can be the spark plug  the Bears need then they can compete with anybody.  If they can get the offense working they will win. Central plays much better on the field turf. Should be a good game

Trevor Cummings with the big INT as Central was driving late in the game. 2nd play of the 2nd half Chewy Dunu scored on a 63 yard TD run. Trevor Ervin scored on a 3 yard TD run for the Bears.

Pag Meter says this is a very interesting matchup. CVC is playing well after getting beat up by Chowchilla. Dinuba is playing a very tough schedule and is struggling on both sides of the ball. So is it the tough schedule or is Dinuba struggling? I love what Dinuba is doing with the schedule and it started with the Bullard scrimmage and it will help them in the long run. The X factor is both defenses. This is a big game for both teams and Dinuba likes the home turf.

Pag Meter says this is the game of the week! Two teams that are smoking hot. Both offenses are scoring like crazy and both defenses are a lock down D. Both teams can do it all on offense so this game comes down to the defensive side of the ball. This would be a huge win on the road for the Bears. The Bears have running backs Jordan Dominguez and Joel Aranda, receiver Tiveon Stroud and quarterback Henry Ramirez Jr. The Bears are finally good because they can throw the ball. For years the Bears watched film over and over again and just couldn’t out why they couldn’t run against 9 in the box and would finish 3-7. Not this year. The Monarchs have some new MoJo with 14 year old Freshman QB Alec Trujillo who went 14-of-23 passing for 310 yards and 5 TD passes in the win over Wasco.  This game could come down to the final drive. Exeter is the favorite but I think the Bears will have a nice bus ride home.

Pag Meter says that last year the undefeated Coyotes kicker Evan Rios nailed the game winning field goal and beat the Knights 32-31 but Charles Williiams did not play. This year the undefeated Madera Coyotes  has the No 1 Bullard Knights coming to town. The Coyotes are 4-0 but have not played a schedule like Bullard. The only thing you need to look at is the comparative scores; Bullard beat Hoover 55-6 and Madera beat Hoover 30-27. That being said Hoover is a completely different team now than in week 0. The X factor is the Madera defense and what they can do against the West coast wing T. Can they slow down the best back around Charles Williams?

The Tigers get a do over!
Pag Meter says that this is the 1st time maybe ever that Memorial can beat the Tigers and if they don’t this year, it might be another 100 years before the Panthers can beat the Tigers again. We might see another eclipse first. I don’t think SJM has ever beaten Edison? That being said SJM still has to play the perfect game to win.
Edison has played a much tougher schedule and has struggled on offense but the defense has been outstanding. Memorial also plays outstanding defense and the offense is always their X factor. The Tigers will have their new QB Gerard Mendez starting who had to sit 37 days for transferring from Sunnyside. Also head coach Matt Johnson takes over as offensive coordinator. The Tigers offense has been horrible so a change was needed. Will they use their athletes or stick with the grind out offense that will not work? The Panthers have a very balanced offense with QB Michael Alvarez leading the way. SJM needs to control the clock to go 6-0.  This will be a coming out party for Mendez and the Tigers.

Harris suffered a broken finger on his left hand early against Kingsburg on Sept 18 and his left hand heavily wrapped and still rushed for 243 yards. Harris came back early because sophomore RB Kazmeir Allen rushed for 321 yards and scored  4 TD’s in the win over Kingsburg. Harris didn’t want to be Wally Pipp. You know the old story, Wally got hurt and a young guy named Lou Gehrig came in to replace him.
