The Pag Meter is staying around 82% on the picks. No question the North valley games are tougher to pick than the south valley games because the north valley has more parody. Plenty of even games in the north valley.
The south valley though has the SWYL that is tough to pick with the 3 upper tier teams with Liberty, Centennial and bakersfield. The TRAC has anybody can beat anybody.
Only 3 weeks left before we find out where teams will be seeded. The beautiful thing is most division could all be playing out and make the seeding easy for the CIF committee.

Pag Meter says that this is the Bears biggest league game in 10 years because they have struggled for so long because teams would just beat up the one dimensional offense year after year. The Bears never implemented the overhand pass so when new head coach Matt Logue took over, he knew the Bears had to be able to run and pass especially playing in the tough CSL. The Emperors have been very up and down this year and when they are up they are very good. Dinuba has played the tougher schedule so that could be a factor. I’ve been saying it for years that the Bears are the sleeping giant of the valley so they can make a statement at home infront of their big crowd? The X factor is Dinuba QB Issac Leppke and if he goes off Dinuba will win.

Pag Meter says that the Panthers come in after scoring 69 points in the win over Madera 69-63. Yes 69-63. The Panthers played their best game of the year but did have plenty of turnovers to keep the Coyotes in it. The Knights come in No 1 in the Pag Meter rankings but have plenty of injuries in the secondary. SJM QB Michael Alvarez comes in after playing his best game of the year and will have to be on because I don’t see the Panthers running on the Knights. Can the SJM defense slow down the best back in the valley Charles Williams? NO. Charles broke the Knights all time single game rushing record with 336 yards in the blowout win over Madera South 45-14. The Panthers offense was shut down against the Edison Tigers a couple weeks back and it could be even tougher against the best defense in the valley. If the Knights are still beat up with injuries the Panthers will score a few touchdowns. The Knights offense will run wild at Chukchansi. Last year the Knights won 35-7. The Knights might be looking ahead to the CMAC championship game on Thursday vs Sanger

Pag Meter says the Tigers are at the crossroads of the season. Plenty of talent but do they really want it? The Tigers excuse every year is they start slow and get going by week 5. It’s week 8 and They are not expected to make a run in the playoffs after winning the valley for the 1st time since 1975. Head coach Matt Johnson is doing everything he can to keep the troops together and not fall apart like a cheap suit. The defense is set as coaches Robbie Quinn and Jason Murray take over and the Tigers now have one of the top defenses in the valley. The offense…..not good from A to Z. I guess you can say it starts with the philosophy of the Tigers that makes little sense. You will see the Tigers do well against the weaker defenses and get crushed against the good defenses. Example, against Madera South and Madera, should be fine. Against Bullard in week 10, zero chance. Madera South comes in 0-16 lifetime in the CMAC but this year is the best team for talent in school history . Jr 6-3 QB Jonah Johnson is a man beast and tough to slow down. If Madera South can come up with a smart and fundamentally sound game plan on offense….we got a ball game. Tigers had huge school issues on campus this week that could hurt the Tigers team MOJO or really help it getting some players away from the team. The Stallions could be 1-16 in the CMAC after Friday. If Madera lets Bonner get away and goes to another school then they are idiots! Dion Cordero has taken over the Coyotes for the rest of the year. The Apaches defense will step it up and slam the door. Apaches running back Isaiah Hilliard who rushed for 127 yards against the Tigers and against one of the best run defenses in the valley will love the fieldturf.

The Panthers defense might want to talk with Central and how to play with 13 players but the Redskins would still put up 50 plus points. This game has two outstanding backs with Romello Harris from TU who is now 3rd on the all time central section career rushing list with 7,207 yards and the Panthers have red hot Isaiah Jones who rushed for 426 yards in the loss to Tulare Western 45-42. This game could be a record setting night for both backs because the Panthers defense is horrible and the Panthers offense is so good that will keep it from a the running clock. Don’t be shocked if the score is 87 -80, with Harris and Jones each rushing for 500 plus yards. In 2012, the Redskins and Panthers set a CIF state record for most combined points in a game (165) with Porterville winning, 86-79. I told you the defenses struggle and it happens year after year and I guess when you score so many points, you don’t have to work on tackling. Stay tuned!

The key for the Lions is to be able to run north and south and RB Mark Rodriguez who rushed for 160 yards and scored 2 TD’s in the win over Yosemite really helps with that. The inside run game will help with sophomore QB Sean Chambers who can do his thing with everything else. It’s up to Lions if they want it during the off season, but plan on the Lions in 2016 and 2017 to be a contender to win the division 4 section title. The Lions go as far as the Lions go in 2016

The G Hawks have their own playmakers with Cole Beaty and Brandon Robinson who each have scored 6 TD’s this year and red hot QB Cesar Deleon who has thrown 11 TD passes. , The difference in the this game will be the Golden Hawks defense. When was the last time the Drillers lost 3 home games in one year? (Edison and Ridgeview) It might happen? It is homecoming for the last time before Griffith Field gets all fixed up. By the way the Drillers playing conditions are by far the worst in the state. If Centennial can focus on what they need to do and not worry about the piss-pour playing dirt and the ghost of Griffith field they will be fine. Remember the Drillers are not the triple option team this year and that makes them human.

Pag Meter says that this is the biggest TRAC game for the Bears in 7 years. Buchanan has been a non factor in the TRAC but now a win and they are the TRAC favorites. Clovis comes in losing the craziest game maybe ever. You all know but I will remind you...lost to Central 21-20 last Thursday night but had to postpone the game with Central leading 21-12 because of lightning. They resumed the game on Saturday with 6:06 left in the 4th quarter. The Ref’s blew it because Central lined up with 13 players on 5 plays and 12 players on 1 play. It’s hard to believe that the Linesman, Line Judge & Back Judge all missed counting players because that’s their only job before the play. What’s real funny is the officials only work for Clovis Unified and home games.
It’s a Clovis loss but the season really gets going this week so the Cougars need to get over it and focus. The Bears don’t need 13 players with one of the top defenses in the valley. The Bears beat up Clovis West 28-14. This is the Clovis passing attack vs the Bears defense. If there is a weakness on the Bears defense it is pass coverage. I see the Bears putting big pressure on Cougars QB Sean Kuenzinger who has thrown for 1,848 yards with 20 TD passes. The X factor is the Bears defense and is tough to run against with the bookends of Bryson Young and Ben Parker and the Cougars don’t run the ball well. If Bears QB Josh Friesen has another good game like he did against Clovis West, Bears will be 3-0 in the TRAC. If not the Cougars will steam roll because the Bears offense sometimes doesn't show up. This will be the best defense that the Cougars will have seen this year.
