This game will come down to the Memorial offense vs the Sunnyside defense and who plays better. Both have yet to play their best game. This has alway been a great rivalry and it should be a good one. If SJM can avoid the the big play by the Wildcats, they win.

The schedule starts at 7:30 p.m. Friday, with Sunnyside hosting San Joaquin Memorial. The other two games are: Stockdale vs Sunnyside, 7:30 p.m. Oct. 2; and Sunnyside vs Roosevelt, 7:30 p.m. Oct. 30.

This is a great rivalry and always a fantastic game. It is great to see that Clovis West plays Bullard every year. I says that because the Clovis Cougars refuse to play Bullard ever again. Next year in week 3, Bullard and Clovis has an open date; Bullard wants to play Clovis, the alumni from both schools want the game but the Clovis coaching staff no way. 
Back to CW vs Bullard and CW has dominated the series with 28-6 record...This year both teams come in loaded. CW plays with a bunch of outstanding sophomores including QB Adrian Martinez. The Knights come in beating Central 21-19 and it took a last minute goal line stand to hold on. The Knights were absolutely beat up after playing Grant that it was the walking wounded against Central. Central always plays the Knights tough since 1960.  Clovis West has had 2 week to get ready for the Knights West coast wing T offense.  
The Pag Meter says that both offenses are really good. CW will run plays so fast that will try to wear down the defense in the 2nd half. It worked against Merced and Centennial. Both teams had leads but fell apart in the 2nd half. The Knights might be the best shape team in the valley so I don’t see that happening. The Knights defense is one of the best so it will be a great matchup of the CW offense vs the Knights defense. The X Factor will be the CW defense and can they slow down Charles Williams and the Knights Wing T. If CW can get the Knights 3rd and long then we got a ball game. Will the 2 weeks off hurt the Golden Eagles? Yes! Last year Bullard pulled out a 28-25 win. Bullard has been a 1st half team and Clovis West has been a 2nd half team…..Stay tuned! It is Clovis West Homecoming and I'm thinking Caleb Kelly is the Homecoming Kings! He won it.

Both teams have not played the top notch schedule so are they both a contender to win it all?  It is the outstanding Clovis passing attack vs the outstanding Centennial defensive pass coverage. This could be about the other side of the ball. The Clovis defense vs the Centennial offense. The X Factor in this game is Centennial’s Brandon Robinson and Clovis QB Sean Kuenzinger and who has the better game.  As for Centennial, don’t get to excited about the G Hawks losing to Clovis West in the 2nd half. CW offense is sooooo tough in the 2nd half because their game plan is to wear you down with the very fast up tempo offense like no other team. It’s homecoming and it should be a big crowd.

The Warriors speed on offense vs the Stallions red hot defense. 8 straight quarters of shutout football for MS. Both teams have speed but the Warriors use their speed to perfection. MS runs the Wing T and in the wing T it’s not about speed, it’s about 11 players all close together bangin heads. Someday if Madera South ever uses what they have they could win it all. If Madera South ever wants to make football fun for the players then open it up. The Stallions looked fantastic during the summer playing 7 vs 7 and the players had a great time. If you want to draw players into your football program then make it fun to be around. I bet Madera  High is loving it that MS runs the Wing T.  This will either be a close game or a Fresno High blow out.
